Crime Stoppers is a community-oriented program that uses law enforcement, the community, and the media to fight crime.
Crime Stoppers provides a phone number for citizens to call to give anonymous information on any criminal activity. Callers are given a code number in exchange for information and are asked to keep in contact with the program. If an arrest is made or property or drugs recovered, t. All reward money is raised by a civilian board of directors. No tax dollars are used.
Since inception in 1981, calls to Crime Stoppers have resulted in the recovery of over $17 million in drugs and property in Guilford County alone. This makes our program a leader in the state and nation in terms of cases cleared and recovery.
